      Thomas "Tom" Payne

 Captain Tom Payne was born on November 14, 1945 in North Vancouver, B.C. Tom received his education at West Van High in West Vancouver. Prior to is employment with the West Vancouver Fire department Tom was working for Brentwood Dodge dealership. Tom served the West Vancouver Fire Department as a volunteer from June 1970 to December 1970 where he started as a career firefighter on December 1. Tom moved to fire prevention in 1977 where he remained for several years before returning to suppression. He was promoted to Lieutenant in February of 1982 and Captain on August 28, 1989. Tom was on active duty when he passed away suddenly at home of heart failure. Tom had one child Connor.

      Kennith "Ken" Clifford

Captain Ken Clifford was born on October 25, 1946 in Vancouver, B.C. Ken acquired his education at West Van High in West Vancouver. He joined the volunteers in May of 1970 and joined the permanent force on December 1, 1970. He was promoted to Lieutenant on January 1, 1982 and Captain on August 28, 1989. He retired on August 31, 2003. He died in Chilliwack Hospital from cancer.

 Firefighter Gary Hunter was born on June 30, 1944 in North Vancouver, B.C. He received his education at North Van High in North Vancouver. Gary started with the West Vancouver Fire Department on December 1, 1970. Gary was still on active duty when he died in West Vancouver of cancer.

 Lieutenant Ken Gisby was born on October 7, 1938 in North Vancouver, B.C. He went to West Van High in West Vancouver. Ken was a volunteer with the Bowen Island Fire Department from 1963 to 1974. He joined the West Vancouver Fire Department on March 11, 1974. He was promoted to Lieutenant on December 15, 1990 He retired on August 29, 1997. He fought a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife Laurie and two son’s David and Ken JR.

 Firefighter Rex Neff was born on June 9, 1945 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Rex graduated from David Thompson High in Vancouver. Prior to joining the Fire Department,  Rex worked for United Airlines at the Vancouver Airport. He started with West Vancouver Fire Department on November 18, 1974. Rex was on active duty when he died. Rex had two children Ryan and Nicole.

 Captain Bob Davidson was born on April 28, 1944 in Vancouver, B.C. He graduated from McGee High School in Vancouver. He worked for United Airlines in 1967 and eight years later in 1975 he began his career with the West Vancouver Fire Department. He was promoted to Lieutenant on January 25, 1993 and Captain on July 1, 1999. He retired on June 30, 2002. He died of cancer. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife Jill and his three children Jason, Shelly and Don.

            James "Jim" Orr

 Captain Jim Orr was born on April 26, 1955 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After completing his high school education in Winnipeg he moved to Vancouver. He joined the West Vancouver Fire Department on March 9, 1981. He was promoted to Lieutenant on May1, 2002 and Captain on September 1, 2003. He retired on September 30, 2009 after 28 years of service. He died in Vancouver Hospital of liver failure.

 Edward “Ted” Cannon was born on November 24, 1941 in Hendon, England. He came to Canada when he was 10 years old. Graduated from McGee High School in Vancouver. He took courses in auto mechanic at BCIT in 1961, Cullen Detroit Diesel in 1973 and 1977 and supervisor courses at Capilano College in 1980. He was hired as a mechanic at the West Vancouver Municipal Works Department and then transferred to the West Vancouver Fire Department on August 25, 1981. He resigned in May of 1986. Ted died of cancer. Ted and his wife Birgit had three children Michelle, Tina and Ted jr.

              William Phillips

               Who died on July 16, 2021

               Age 63

Captain William (Bill) Phillips was born on July 4, 1958 in North Vancouver B.C. William went to school at West Vancouver Secondary and St George’s in Vancouver. He joined the West Vancouver Fire Department on November 17, 1980. He was promoted to Lieutenant on August 31, 2001 and to Captain on Sept 1, 2003. He retired on Jan 31, 2012. He died of Pancreas cancer. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife Kerry and his three children James, Samuel, Abigail.
